I met someone today and we started talking, and then I suddenly noticed her necklace with a fish on it, and I asked her what it was, and she told me that it's an ancient symbol of christianity and suddenly I got a flash of Dick's essay and it all came back to me, and I felt a little freaked out because I felt like I was in the exact same position Philip K Dick was when he asked the girl from the pharmacy about her necklace. It felt very odd. I also found the essay through Waking Life. I looked this up because something like this happened to me today.
